About Us: Milestones

Among the significant milestones Cinkate has reached in its twelve-year history, are the following.

  • Cinkate established in 1993 and opens Representative office in Shanghai in 1994; submits IND for clinical evaluation of leflunomide for RA in 1997, submits NDA in 1999 and begins sales (Airohua®) in 2000.
  • Cinkate becomes profitable in 2003.
  • Cinkate launches Phase III randomized, controlled, open label trials in 100 patient pairs with lupus nephritis in May 2003 in six major medical centers across China. Results from this six month trial (NDA) were presented to the Chinese FDA in November 2005 and their response is expected the Fall of 2006.
  • Cinkate and Genzyme Biosurgery announce an agreement to market Synvisc® in China in April 2003. Cinkate establishes medical device company, Cinkate Meditech, and receives device license.
  • Cinkate begins, in China, the first Phase III evaluation of malononitrileamide (Airohua®) in kidney transplantation: Launched July 2004.
  • Approval of insurance reimbursement for Airohua® announced in September 2004.
  • Cinkate establishes R&D facility in Pu Dong in January, 2006
  • Cinkate begins planning for production facility expansion and modernization as preliminary for pipeline expansion and entry into US pharmaceutical market.

Engaging in the development of state of the art therapies, Cinkate has established a strong infrastructure in regulatory management, as well as extremely productive sales and marketing teams. In contrast to the experience of many foreign companies, Cinkate became profitable eight years after embarking on this journey--after establishing the "Bridgehead."

Cinkate Sales of Airohua® (Leflunomide)

Sales of Airohua (leflunomide ) have increased by 40% or more annually since 2001.

The acceleration of sales in 2005 occurred with the expansion of insurance coverage for Airohua, and Cinkate expects this rate of growth to continue into 2008.  

Sales of, Synvisc, the Genzyme Biosurgery product for treatment of osteoarthritis have grown over the past few years as well.
